![]() Combine milk and butter in a small saucepan heat until milk is warm and butter is softened but not melted. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, sugar, salt, and yeast stir well. The Christian Easter Bread comes from the Jewish tradition but was modified over time because they did not follow kosher dietary laws.Ī recipe for Easter bread is as follows: IngredientsĢ tsp active dry or instant yeast 2/3 cup milk 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup white granulated sugar 2 tbs butter 2 large eggs 2 tbs melted butter 1 tsp salt Instructions The Jewish Challah bread is based on kosher dietary laws. The two are almost exactly the same! These recipes are similar because they come from religious backgrounds. So I decided to look up a recipe for Easter Bread to make a comparison. I kept wondering how these two breads could be so similar in taste. The challah is done when it is deeply browned. Slide the challah on its baking sheet into the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through cooking.Be sure to get in the cracks and down the sides of the loaf. ![]() Whisk the reserved egg white with a tablespoon of water and brush it all over the challah. Place the pan somewhere warm and away from drafts and let it rise until puffed and pillowy, about an hour. Sprinkle the loaf with a little flour and drape it with a clean dishcloth. Line a baking sheet with parchment and lift the loaf on top.Pinch the pieces together again at the bottom. Braid the pieces in the pattern of over, under, and over again. Gather the ropes and squeeze them together at the very top. ![]() Roll each piece of dough into a long rope roughly 1-inch thick and 16 inches long. ![]() Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and place somewhere warm. The dough has finished kneading when it is soft, smooth, and holds a ball-shape. If the dough seems very sticky, add flour a teaspoon at a time until it feels tacky, but no longer like bubblegum. Turn out the dough onto a floured work surface and knead by hand for about 10 minutes.Pour the yeast mixture over the egg slurry and mix until difficult to move.Whisk these together to form a slurry, pulling in a little flour from the sides of the bowl. Make a well in the center of the flour and add in eggs, egg yolk, and oil.Whisk together 4 cups of the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.Combine yeast and a pinch of sugar in small bowl with the water and stir until you see a frothy layer across the top.The pattern formed by the curve the sequence creates used repeatedly produces a lovely and intricate design. The part of the flower in the middle of the petals (the pistil) follows the Fibonacci Sequence much more intensely than other pieces of nature, but the result is an incredible piece of art. Some truly majestic trees are in existence today, utilizing this pattern. But if you did, you would see the Fibonacci Sequence evolve out of the trunk and spiral and grow the taller and larger the tree becomes. Tree - we see them everywhere, but do you look and analyse the structure of how the branches grow out of the tree and each other? No, because you're normal and have better things to do. And then, there you have it! You're own little piece of math. They are also fun to collect and display. Shells are probably the most famous example of the sequence because the lines are very clean and clear to see. As you may have guessed by the curve in the box example above, shells follow the progressive proportional increase of the Fibonacci Sequence. ![]() If more space is needed, it would be effortless to build another layer underground or make the existing layers bigger and go further upwards. The open feel this design gives the interior is perfect for people who like everything they need in one centralized location. This building has a smaller circle on top of a bigger one to add some layers and variation to the interior design. ![]() RELATED: Minecraft: Things To Do If You're Bored Thankfully, there are plenty of tools online that can give players blueprints to work from. What's the easiest way to ensure players avoid the box design? Build a circle! As expected in a game all about cubes, building circular structures takes a bit of finesse. The possibilities are numerous when it comes to choosing a building material, so, for a unique house design, be sure to think outside the box! Any log cabin or dank dungeon can be transformed with the right building block choice. There are tons of different kinds of wood to use as well as many variations of stone and a lot more. Updated on October 30, 2021, by Reyadh Rahaman: The aesthetics of a house are not solely dependant on the shape and size, as, with many types of blocks in the game, Minecraft players can make unique color and texture choices as well-even without needing to use mods. These players need a middle-ground, a set of smaller and easier house designs that have their own little techniques and intricacies to teach them how to build the massive stuff and come up with cool ideas. There are plenty of beautiful designs out there, but many are extremely complex and would be difficult for beginners to get to grips with, even with a tutorial. RELATED: Minecraft: Removed Features That Need To Return ![]() But when I want nuggets, give me nuggets. While delicious and coated with plenty of Popeyes’ signature light, Corn Flake-like batter, they are simply unworthy of the term “nugget.” This brings us back to Popeyes’ new chicken nuggets - bite-sized shreds of fried chicken, which, again, are merely smaller versions of the existing tenders on the menu. The world’s largest chicken nugget was unveiled in Secaucus, N.J., in 2013, measuring 3 ¼ feet long and weighing more than 50 pounds - a Pyrrhic victory for humankind, to be sure, but one that reinforced an important point: Nuggets are made, not born. And, be they shaped like boots, stars or even video game characters (one sold on eBay for almost $100,000 because it resembled an “Among Us” crewmate), they are a product of technology, not nature. (McDonald’s, for its part, says its McNuggets are made with “100% white meat chicken” but that actual meat constitutes about 45% of each nugget.)īut, love them or hate them, nuggets are forever entwined in our culture. The rest was fat, ground bone, nerve, connective tissue and other things you probably don’t want to think about but maybe should. A federal judge used the term “McFrankenstein” to describe them in 2003, citing a laundry list of ingredients that included sodium aluminum phosphate and dimethylpolysiloxane as an “anti-foaming agent.”Ī study published in the American Journal of Medicine in 2013 dissected chicken nuggets from two unnamed national fast food chains in what was colorfully described as an “autopsy.” The researchers concluded, “Chicken nuggets are mostly fat, and their name is a misnomer.” They determined that nuggets contained, at most, 50% meat. The fast food nugget has faced criticism over the years - no one would deign to call them healthy. In that same time period, beef consumption suffered a serious drop, from 88.2 pounds to 58.4 pounds. increased from 36 pounds in 1975 to more than 96 pounds in 2020. The rise of the nugget coincided with chicken’s increasing popularity nationwide and a growing disenchantment with beef - per capita chicken consumption in the U.S. ![]() In a specialized poultry products lab, Baker came up with the chicken equivalent of a fish stick in 1963 - shaped, ground chicken held together with pulverized grains and powdered milk, then battered. The foundation of the modern-day nugget was created by Cornell University professor Robert Baker, according to an article in Slate, in an attempt to increase the popularity of the bird after World War II. Depending on your province, an 8-piece box of nuggets will set you back about 5.99. Of course, you can enjoy your Chicken Nuggets with Popeyes’ variety of tasty sauces: Bayou Buffalo, BoldBQ, Blackened Ranch, Buttermilk Ranch, Mardi Gras Mustard, and Sweet Heat. The chicken nugget, popularized by McDonald’s in the early 1980s, has a considerable backstory. Starting July 27th, Canadians can purchase Popeyes’ Chicken Nuggets at all Popeyes locations across the country. TBH, it sounds like if you’ve ever enjoyed a Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, the chain’s new Chicken Nuggets will be right up your alley. The final result is a batch of bite-sized nuggets that have a super crispy exterior and juicy interior. The nugget process starts with white meat chicken breast that’s seasoned, hand-battered, and breaded in buttermilk before being fried. Once chicken nugget ~szn~ arrives at Popeyes, the Chicken Nuggets will be made in restaurant daily, and it’ll all be done using the same flour and batter process as the chain’s fried chicken, so you know it won’t disappoint. You may recall that Popeyes previously offered chicken nuggets for a limited time in 2012 and in the 1980s before that, but this release is a brand new recipe - and it’s set to be released nationwide on July 27. Popeyes unveiled its new Chicken Nuggets on Tuesday, July 13, and it’s a tasty update to the nuggets from your childhood. Here’s everything you need to know about the crispy little bites. The summer of 2019 was all about Popeyes’ Chicken Sandwich, and it looks like 2021 is going to be all about the nuggs. Popeyes’ new Chicken Nuggets are described by the brand as “poppable” versions of the very popular chicken sandwich (sans bun and toppings, of course), so if you’re a fan of the sandwich, you’ll definitely want to check out the bite-sized version. At the time, the chain boasted that the nuggets are made in the. Explore our menu, offers, and earn rewards on delivery or digital orders. Popeyes is putting a twist on its iconic chicken sandwich with the launch of brand new nuggets, and they’re about to be a game-changer. Popeyes is relatively new to the fast food chicken nugget scene, having only just launched this menu offering in summer of 2021. Mouth-watering crunch and juicy fried chicken bursting with Louisiana flavor.
![]() ![]() In 2021, with 16 more years of game design iteration to compare to, it's a lot more obvious. In 2005, the illusion that you were regularly making impactful decisions was only broken after playing the game several times and noticing that you were largely making similar decisions to your first run through the game. ![]() Sure, you're directing the squad and making the decisions, but when the decision is whether or not you want to use a certain sniping spot (without much downside either way), the decision-making process isn't as impactful.Īnd that's where Republic Commando Remastered struggles the most. Republic Commando doesn't give you something like that prior, nor does it do anything too similar for the rest of the campaign (there are a couple of other standout moments like it, but they don't quite require the same level of strategic prowess), which unfortunately means that this tactical game isn't actually all that tactical. It's a tense moment but so incredibly rewarding, because it's one of the strongest examples of seeing how your plans can save the day. And it's impossible to do everything before the first dispenser arrives, forcing you to react to any of your mistakes. It encourages you to make good judgment calls fast because the threat is so imminent. So it's a mad dash to get a good idea of how the hangar is laid out, decide where to assign your squad to do the most damage, and figure out where to put traps to plug the holes in your defense. Throughout the hangar, there are spots where your squad can take up positions to snipe or throw grenades or man a turret, but there are also a dozen or so canisters where you or a squadmate can attach motion-sensing explosive traps. But your possibilities do open up in later levels.įor example, my favorite part of the game has you enter a hangar where you know droid soldier dispensers are going to land-in fact you can see them in the distance, giving you a window of opportunity to quickly devise a plan before the fight breaks out. There's very little choice in how to tackle a problem on Geonosis-usually the solution is just given to you as you're funneled into a plan instead of making your own. The Illusion Of CommandĮarly on, there isn't much agency in how you can command your squad, which, along with the game's linear nature, can feel disappointingly restrictive. Holographic outlines of where a squadmate can do something will appear on your HUD, allowing you to know what options you have in each area and easily assign squadmates to where you want them to go. Having elements of a tactical shooter, Republic Commando offers you options in how to lead your squad through combat gauntlets-these range from general orders such as "defend a spot" or "search and destroy," to more specific commands like telling Sev to use his sniper rifle from behind a certain piece of cover or tasking Scorch with setting a demolition charge on an obstacle in front of you. That's a good thing, because that desire to keep your squad alive will help motivate you to make good decisions. As you're in command, the others look up to you as a big brother figure, and this familial bond creates a tendency to act protectively towards your squadmates. This helps to build a rapport with your AI-teammates-Scorch and Sev's brotherly rivalry with one another is still amusing years later, as are Fixer's repeated but useless reprimands for the two of them to act more like adults. ![]() Most of the game sees all four working together, providing numerous opportunities for conversations between the squad. The different actors for Boss (Temuera Morrison), Scorch (Raphael Sbarge), Fixer (Andrew Chaikin), and Sev (Jonathan David Cook) do most of the legwork in differentiating each member of the squad from one another. Your unit, Delta Squad, is also composed of sarcastic demolitions expert RC-1262 aka "Scorch," by-the-books hacker and technical analyst RC-1140 aka "Fixer," and morbidly grim sniper RC-1207 aka "Sev." The game takes place over several locations, beginning with an assignment on Geonosis at the end of Attack of the Clones and concluding on Kashyyyk just prior to the events of Revenge of the Sith. In Republic Commando, you play as RC-1138 aka "Boss," commanding sergeant of a specialized commando unit trained to take on missions that require a greater level of skill and cognitive ability than standard clone troopers possess.
